Rs 1000/- each and 2kg date packets were distributed to fifty Reverts.

Community Service Project –Commenced Jan 2004
The need arose for the Ladies Wing to start a Sadaqa fund and a Revolving fund to attend to the immediate needs of the poor. The revolving fund loans money to help the poor start a business and be self sufficient on a returnable basis.

 Alhamdulillah we were able to start these two funds with part of the monthly fees received by the students attending our Madarasa.

RENOVATION OF  CIS HALL

April 2004 – A New Look !!! The following was accomplished

Tiling of the CIS Hall - area of 2000 sq ft.
3 New toilets were constructed.
Rear of Hall - 4 washbasins was placed. 
Colour washing of the entire building completed...

KATUGODA - GALLE

Vocational Training Institute-
1st Phase- Sewing and Embroidery

 This was an on going Project in Galle for the Tsunami Victims. The CIS Ladies Wing helped to finance the Katugoda Sewing Project by appealing to Brother Zuhair of Discover Islam Bahrain during his visit to Sri Lanka in 2005.

Needs:-
A place to house the Vocational Training Centre. Rental Expense
Machinery and furniture needed for the Centre
Teachers salaries for all classes.

ALHAMDULILAH   AHMED VON DONFERS FOUNDATION HELPED TO FUND THE VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE’S NEEDS THROUGH THE CIS LADIES WING.

Tsunami Orphan Fund

CIS Social & Welfare Project
Rajabia Ramzan an Executive Co-ordinator of the CIS Ladies Wing Welfare committee has got a  Sponsor from Greece for 150 Orphan Children from all communities in the tsunami affected areas. For a period of five years. Age group being one to fourteen years.

SEARS SEWING SCHOOL
A couple who were reverts ran this Institute and they were both  famous for their arts and crafts.  Sister Nadeeha Nazeer on Dec 26th 2004  suffered great losses due to the tsunami. Her husband was a victim for the .tidal wave of the tsunami, Innalillahi wainna ilaihi rajioon . Her house was badly damaged and she lost all her machinery for the tsunami. Alhamdulilah the CIS Ladies Wing through Brother Zuhair of Discover Islam, Bahrain helped her to start the business once again.

Academy of Islamic & Non-formal Education
Prize Giving & Tsunami Aid Dsitribution-
Sewing Machines – gifted by Ahamed Don Henfen

Students of the above Academy were awarded with Trophies, Gifts  & Diploma Certificates on  Dec 4th 2005 for having successfully  passed the examination held on October  1st 2005 , completing the 1st batch of Diploma 1 holders in Arabic Language. Students won prizes also for   Qirath, Thajwid recital, & Hifl.

Alhamdulillah!!  The event was a great success!

Honoured Guest was Abida Muthalif – President of the Academy of Adult Education for Women.
Distinguished Guest - Presidents of all Muslim Womens Organizations and Well Wishers awarded the prizes. Examinations will be held annually for Arabic language Part I &2 Certificates, Prizes and Trophies
will be Awarded to the qualifying students in  formal and non formal subjects.
